- 200gr unsalted butter
- 380gr all-purpose flour
- 400gr cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 245gr milk or yoghurt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Important: Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature so that your cake will be soft and fluffy.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla extract using an electric mixer.
After one minute, your mixture will change colour and texture.
Make sure it is a little fluffy before you proceed to the next step.
Now add your eggs one at a time – beat your mixture well after each addition. Make sure they are at room temperature to avoid your mixture from turning lumpy.
Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and add it to your mixture, adding milk alternately.
Pour your mixture into a greased baking pan and place in the oven to bake at 350 degrees Celcius.
Bake for 50-70 minutes. To check if your cake is ready, insert a toothpick in the centre – it should come out clean.
