HOW LONG CAN YOU KEEP FROZEN FOODS?
Technically, the majority of frozen foods should be safe from freezer burn for 3-6 months. However, properly freezing foods can extend their shelf life, you can do this by using airtight freezer-safe containers or special freezer wraps. It is also easier to remember what to keep and what to throw out if you regularly inventory your freezer.
Label everything with the item’s name and the date it was frozen. For extra easy storage, keep a list on the fridge so that you can easily see what is inside your freezer without having to look around.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO THAW FROZEN FOOD?
All frozen food items, including raw or cooked meat, poultry, and egg products, must be kept at a safe temperature during the thawing process. When frozen, they are secure from bacterial growth.
