With the Easter Holidays looming just around the corner, it would be an ideal time to think about what you want to prepare for your family celebration! There are tons of ideas and choices out there for Easter family dinner meals. Why not stick with an original Easter meal, the classic deviled eggs!

Not only is this a relatively easy recipe to follow, but it also stays closely with the theme of Easter. In this article, we’ll be going over just what it takes to recreate the original classic deviled eggs for your Easter holiday celebration.

Classic Deviled Eggs

Ingredients

The ingredients for the classic deviled eggs are pretty straight forward. This includes mayonnaise, hot sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, white vinegar, yellow mustard, salt, finely chopped green onion, black pepper, paprika for garnish, and of course, a set of hardboiled eggs cut in half lengthwise.

If you want to spice it up a notch, we recommend using medium-hot mustard. Together with some real Indonesian sambal, this makes it all the more appealing to the hot food lovers.

Cooking instructions

As the name suggests, the classic deviled eggs recipe revolves around hardboiled eggs.

Therefore, we start by prepping and boiling the eggs. Place the eggs in a pan and add water until it fully covers the eggs, leaving about three centimeters of water above the eggs. This ensures the eggs remain submerged even at high temperatures.

Heat the pan with high heat until the water boils. Once it boils cover the pan, and reduce the heat to medium-low and let it cook for about one or two minutes. Afterward, turn off the heat and leave the pan covered for about fifteen minutes. Once done, rinse the eggs under streaming cold water for one minute. This should ensure the eggs are properly hardboiled.

Prepping the eggs

Once you’ve got the eggs ready, it’s time to prep them. Grab the eggs you just cooked, and crack the shells carefully under running water.

Once you’ve got the shells off, gently pat them dry using paper towels. Slice the eggs across their long side in half, and remove the yolks in a separate bowl or container, placing the egg whites on a separate serving platter.

Take the egg yolks and mash them with a fork until they become a fine crumble. Then add the mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper, and mix it well.

For the final step, put a heap of the egg yolk mix in the hole of the white egg using a teaspoon. Then add a dash of paprika for extra flavoring.

That’s it! For such a simple recipe, the classic deviled eggs are a delicious serving during Easter holiday celebrations. What did you think of our recipe? Would you agree that it’s easy to prepare?
