Everyone loves desserts but not all desserts are good for you. Fortunately, there are ways to enjoy a sweet treat or two without any of the guilt.

Chia Pudding: The Perfect Healthy Dessert for Any Occasion

Here at Puri Pangan Utama, we recommend making your own desserts at home using fresh and premium ingredients that are healthy or a superfood. A perfect example would be a deliciously sweet & refreshing chia pudding made from chia seeds, fresh milk and some caster sugar.

What Are Chia Seeds?

Chia seeds are exactly what the name says they are – small black and white, slightly brownish seeds from the chia plant that is part of the mint family. Don’t be fooled by their tiny sizes; chia seeds are a superfood and are packed to the brim with nutrition! They are also versatile and easy to consume. You can put them in your drinks and smoothies or even make a healthy dessert using chia seeds to enjoy with your loved ones at home.

Are Chia Seeds Really Good For You?

Chia Seeds benefits

Chia seeds are without a doubt good for you. They are jam-packed with all the essential minerals and antioxidants. According to Healthline, chia seeds contain large amounts of fiber, protein and Omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, it also contains zero grams of sugar.

Consuming chia seeds may help to improve your digestive health, lower blood pressure, lower the risk of heart disease and improve blood sugar control. Regularly adding chia seeds to your diet can also help with bone health as they contain high levels of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, along with iron, manganese, copper, selenium and phosphorus. That’s a lot of minerals for such tiny seeds!

Another great thing about chia seeds is that they make you feel full, which means reduced food intake. They are also really easy to consume – just eat them raw, or add them to your juice, smoothies, oatmeal, salads, cereal and so much more. You can also make your own chia pudding with chia seeds and other ingredients from Puri Pangan Utama, and this really quick and easy recipe. Let’s take a look.
