Seafood Expo Global 2017, the world’s largest seafood trade event took place at Brussels Expo in Brussels, Belgium from April 25 – 27, 2017 with the participation of over 1700 exhibiting companies from over 75 countries and more than 26,000 buyers, suppliers, media and other seafood professionals from over 140 countries.
The three-day event was a bustling meeting and trading point for seafood exporters, seafood related service providers and buyers from various sectors. Amongst the exhibitors, PT Puri Pangan Utama collaborated with PT Prasetya Agung Cahaya Utama (Principal of Blessing Fish) to introduce exquisite Indonesian seafood to the world, and more specifically, the European market. Together with other 20 other Indonesian companies as well as Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, we were given the opportunity to showcase our products inside Indonesian Pavillion, beautifully designed to resemble Indonesia’s maritime ship.

The visit of Indonesia’s Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti, marked the opening of the Indonesian Pavillion. She expressed the government’s commitment to continuously support the export of Indonesia’s quality seafood products to the global market, whilst reinforcing the importance of supporting local Indonesian fishermen.
Indonesia’s sensational smoked fish showcased by Blessing Fish include smoked tuna, smoked gindara (oilfish) and smoked marlin. All of these fish are carefully selected and sourced from diverse local regions of Indonesia. The processing includes careful trimming, dry salting, and slow cold-smoking using Canadian maple wood to bring out the wonderful aromatic fragrance and irresistible flavor. One of the highlights from the event was the privilege of introducing these smoked fish to our Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti, who thoroughly enjoyed them, with smoked gindara (oilfish) being her favorite!
